First Visit
What to Expect
Before your first visit, we will have an introductory call where we will ask for some details about your situation and what help you are looking for. We will explain our services, fees, and processes. If you are ready to start working together, we will schedule your first visit.
We will ask a series of questions about your usual eating, activity, and other lifestyle habits. We may provide some information related to your concerns. We will come up with a plan of action together, including follow-up.
Free State Nutrition is able to serve residents of Lawrence and anyone within our service areas virtually! Just let us know your preferred meeting format and we will meet you there!
We ask that you call your insurance carrier to check on benefits prior to your initial call. Please see our insurance guide for helpful tips and assistance.
The first visit is typically about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Subsequent visits are usually 1 hour and can be as frequent as necessary to provide the support you need to meet your goals. During these, we will discuss your progress and together, continue to take steps toward achieving your goals. Follow-up appointments typically occur anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks after your first visit.
Free State Nutrition clients have access to our HIPAA-Compliant portal. The portal includes a chat function where you can send chat messages to your dietitian securely.
Office Policies
In order to best serve you, we ask that all clients agree to the following office policies:
- Payment due at time of service
- 24-hr notice required for cancellations
- $75 fee for late cancellations and no-shows*
- No Refunds
- Notice of Privacy Practices for Adult Clients
- Notice of Privacy Practices for Pediatric Clients
